Cookie Policy
Last updated August 19, 2026
This page explains what cookies Rate My City uses, why, and how you can control them. When you first visit, a banner asks you to accept or decline non-essential cookies — nothing non-essential is set until you accept, and you can change your choice at any time (see "Changing your choice" below).
Essential cookies (always on)
These are required for the site to function and aren't covered by the consent banner:
- Supabase auth session — keeps you signed in for admin and vendor-claim management pages.
- Cookie consent choice — remembers whether you accepted or declined non-essential cookies, so we don't ask every visit.
Cloudflare Turnstile, used to keep spam/bots off the review and listing forms, runs a challenge in your browser when you submit those forms; it doesn't set a persistent tracking cookie ahead of that.
Non-essential cookies (only after you accept)
- Google AdSense. If enabled, AdSense may set cookies/identifiers to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads based on your activity across sites it partners with. The AdSense script itself doesn't load until you accept. See Google's How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- Vercel Analytics. Counts page views and basic traffic patterns in aggregate. It's cookieless and doesn't track you across sites or build an individual profile, so we run it regardless of your cookie choice — see Vercel Web Analytics Privacy Policy.
Changing your choice
Clear the "cookie consent" entry in your browser's site data for this domain and reload the page to see the consent banner again, or use your browser settings to block cookies from this site entirely (essential cookies blocked this way may break sign-in).
